Hey guys,

We've been up to a bunch of stuff and here is a bit of an update.

In March of this year we were asked by the University of Nebraska at Omaha to play the Missouri Valley Historical Conference reception at the Joslyn Castle. They asked for a lower volume set and Jesse (our singer) recommended that we try to do a set of instrumentals.

We recorded the performance and we love how it turned out. It prominently features two of our newer members (although both have played with us for nearly 5 years): NLJ Klosterboer on tenor sax and Luigi Waites on vibes.

We've posted 6 of the tracks here, including an exciting bonus track.

We are currently narrowing down over 80 new studio tracks and figuring out what to do with them. We are planning on releasing most of them over the course of the next year.

Thanks,
Anthony

Our new album "Music from the film Extraordinary Leverage" is now available.

Amanda Mull of The Red and Black (Athens, GA) writes:

"Shelter Belt achieves a sonic richness few bands strive for and fewer attain.
The band changes its style with every song and shows an amazing range of talent. Luigi Waites' contributions to songs such as 'Only So Much' give the music a depth of sound that makes them intriguing after repeated listening."

You can get a hard copy here or get it at the iTunes store.

Thanks,
Anthony

Anthony (our drummer) has completed his first film. It is called "Extraordinary Leverage". It is a short comedy about two rival detectives.

The film features Shelter Belt members Anthony, Chris A., and Nick.

Hope you enjoy:

Shelter Belt, along with NLJ Klosterboer and Luigi Waites, wrote and performed the music for this film. It was very exciting to work with both of these guys. They have been very good friends of ours for a long time and they are exceptionally talented. NLJ Klosterboer is the saxophonist for the band Papers (they are excellent and you can hear them here). You can read a bit about Luigi's distinguished career here.

The soundtrack for this movie features thirteen new songs and will be released as our next CD, Music from the film Extraordinary Leverage. We have posted six tracks from this project here.

We are also excited to announce our first music video. 'What Do You Say?' was directed by Anthony.

The video also doubles as a 'prequel' to Extraordinary Leverage.

Hope you enjoy it:
